POSITION SUMMARY
USA Lacrosse is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team. As the Graphic Designer you will conceptualize, design, and produce visuals for a variety of print and digital mediums, including, but not limited to, event promotion, publications, print and digital ads, social media graphics, infographics, brochures, posters, retail designs, packaging, and illustrations. You will get to work alongside our Art Director and creative team to brings ideas to life by creating visually compelling and effective materials that align with USA Lacrosse’s brand identity and strategic goals. In this role you will get to collaborate cross departmentally to execute creative plans. At USA Lacrosse, we foster an environment where creativity and innovation are encouraged and celebrated. A Typical Day Looks Like…
Creative Execution & Strategic Input
- Partners with internal customers to understand project scope, identify solutions and priorities, obtain necessary information, determine deliverables, and set timelines. This includes using aesthetic layouts and graphic design best practices to create polished and professional marketing materials while maintaining ongoing communication on status with the customer.
- Contributes to the design and illustration of creative concepts for USA Lacrosse's commerce initiatives, including apparel design, packaging, and signage to align with the organization’s brand and retail goals.
- Assists with the design of USA Lacrosse Magazine by designing certain sections of the magazine as assigned.
- Coordinates with print vendors and reviews the printing process to ensure quality and accuracy. This includes escalating any issues and/or concerns to the Art Director.
- Participates in team meetings and brainstorming sessions on projects to effectively roll out marketing campaigns to ensure communication of the intended message to reach the target audience.
Administration & Leadership
- Manages multiple projects while meeting deadlines. This includes assisting the Art Director in monitoring incoming design requests, planning and prioritizing, and following up with to keep open lines of communication with the internal customers.
- In accordance with existing standard operating procedures (SOPs), organizes, coordinates, and names files appropriately for team members, vendors, and clients so they can be easily accessed. This includes updating SOPs as changes occur.
- Stays up to date with industry-standard design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and tools, using them proficiently in design work. This includes making recommendations when there are areas for improvement and opportunity.
- Stays up to date on industry specific trends and best practices, continually looking to improve the quality of USA Lacrosse’s designs.
- Continually monitors trends and understands what other sport and governing bodies are doing to generate ideas for new and innovative designs to help drive business outcomes with clear call to actions (CTA’s).
Is This You…
- Two (2) to five (5) years hands-on graphic design experience in marketing or agency environment.
- Mac OS proficiency required.
- Extensive knowledge of industry-standard software, including ability to create, review and edit graphics through Adobe Creative Suite, with a particular focus on InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of typography, layout, color, and graphic design principles with the ability to continually learn to stay current on new trends.
- Strong hands-on work experience with a wide range of creative projects.
- Strong illustration skills to support a variety of design needs, from editorial artwork to visual storytelling in marketing and branded content.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and digital marketing best practices.
- Experience creating and editing print marketing materials, large format printing, packaging, digital ads, website assets, social media content, and illustrations.
- Knowledge of pre-press and printing process.
- Ability to receive constructive and customer feedback with the ability to pivot as needed without taking feedback personally.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal. This includes the ability to collaborate, manage projects, and build relationships to establish trust and credibility.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, follow up/through skills, and the ability to meet established deadlines on budget.
- Willingness to learn and bring creative ideas to the team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid (in-office/remote) work environment in a fast-paced, “roll up your sleeves” environment to deliver results based on organizational objectives.
- Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop and fuel the growth of game with diversity, equity, and inclusion always in mind.
- Ability to align with USA Lacrosse’s Mission, Vision, and Values to support our initiatives and organizational goals.
Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
Compensation & Benefits Overview
The total compensation pay range (inclusive of base salary plus annual incentive pay potential) for this position is $55,000 to $66,000, commensurate with experience.
USA Lacrosse offers a competitive benefits package including, but not limited to:

- Company paid Life and AD&D at one times an employee’s annual salary up to $50,000 and company paid Long Term Disability (LTD) at one year of employment.

Travel Requirements
Travel may be necessary up to 10% of the time (local, regional). Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, or air. Some out of area and overnight travel may be expected.
