POSITION SUMMARY
USA Lacrosse is looking for two (2) unpaid/for credit Interns to work with our Membership team to help provide insights and support for membership engagement. The Membership Interns will work closely with our Membership and Regional Development team to support key engagement and retention initiatives, providing USA Lacrosse with valuable insights and thoughts on how we can enhance our membership offerings. You will gain hands-on administrative and project-based experience and will contribute to improving USA Lacrosse’s member experience while growing our reach. Our Membership Interns will work with multiple departments to collaborate and ensure our membership feedback, data integrity, and grassroots efforts allow us to make strategic, data-informed decisions to deliver best-in-class experiences to our members and constituents.

A Typical Day Looks Like…
- Conducts outreach calls to current members to gather feedback on what they value in their experiences with the sport of lacrosse and from their USA Lacrosse membership.
- Captures and organizes qualitative insights gained from their conversations to inform USA Lacrosse’s engagement strategies and enhance the member experience.
- Assists with member storytelling initiatives, including collecting stories and ideas from valued members.
- Assists with testing functionality for USA Lacrosse’s new website, understanding page functionality and supporting website launch related tasks.
- Helps in refine USA Lacrosse’s value proposition to better serve youth and collegiate (NCAA and WCLA) players, including specific feedback surrounding processes for future events and league structure.
- Helps scrub, update, and manage membership records in Salesforce (our customer relationship management (CRM) system).
- Cross-references club team data with our internal database to identify new prospects and validate leads.
- Contributes to member engagement efforts such as pre/post-event communication, internal reporting, and engagement-focused projects.
- Provides a report of findings on trends and makes recommendations to USA Lacrosse’s membership team based on the feedback and research conducted.
- Assists with other organizational efforts, including but not limited to, collaboration on cross departmental projects, writing documents and/or standard operating procedures (SOPs) for processes, and reviewing and updating process-related collaboration.

- What did you learn about USA Lacrosse.
- What did you learn about your field of study and the responsibilities of the department you worked in.
- Explain your roles and responsibilities and talk about any project(s) you did.
- Reflect on skills and work habits you learn that you will take with you as you start your career.
Is This You…
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in communications, marketing, sports management, business administration, or related field. Eligibility to earn college credit for internship a plus.
- Ability to work three (3) days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) for five (5) hours a day from late May/early June to mid-August 2026. This includes the ability to work onsite at USA Lacrosse’s headquarters office in Sparks, MD.
- Previous work experience in some capacity. Volunteer experience for a mission-based organization is a plus.
- Interest in youth development, sports engagement, and/or non-profit strategy preferred.
- Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Enthusiastic go-getter with a “roll up your sleeves” and “get it done” attitude.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up/through skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal and written. This includes exceptional phone skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must possess a strong “customer first” attitude.
- Ability to exercise the appropriate level of discretion and judgment with the capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information and materials.
- Ability to present a professional persona and presence to build relationships and establish credibility.
- Ability to be flexible with your work schedule, including the ability to work some nights and weekends based on event schedules.
- Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop and fuel the growth of the sport with diversity, inclusion, and equity in mind.

Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally expected to work part-time (15 to 30 hours per week) during the work week (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm with occasional work on nights and/or weekends based on event and business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
This position is expected to work about 15 hours per week, Tuesday through Thursday between the hours of 10:00am and 4:00pm. There may be occasional requirements for longer hours during the week and/or weekends based on events and other business needs. This position will work from our headquarters office in Sparks, MD (remote not available). Please note, we do not offer housing for our internship program. All candidates must live within a commutable distance from Sparks, MD.
