POSITION SUMMARY
USA Lacrosse is looking for unpaid/for credit summer Interns to work with our National Teams Development Program (NTDP). In this role you will assist with the management and coordination of NTDP events by completing administrative tasks and executing projects to support NTDP events. You will play an integral role in supporting our National Team Development Program as we identify, evaluate, and support top youth athletes who want to play for USA Lacrosse’s National Teams through our regional player ID clinics and NTDP Combines.

We are looking for someone who wants to gain operational experience in event planning and sports management. You will get to learn from some of the most dedicated, passionate, and talented professionals while gaining hands-on experience in event management in a sports environment.
A Typical Day Looks Like…
- Provides administrative support to our National Teams Developmental Program (NTDP). This includes, but is not limited to event preparation and execution and document management, processing, and retention while ensuring top customer service.
- Assists the NTDP Manager in all aspects of player ID events and training camps (i.e., organization/distribution of team equipment and apparel, off-site event packing and shipments, etc.).
- Manages registration activities for NTDP events. This includes following up with athletes to gather any missing information/documentation to keep them in good standing.
- Communicates with volunteers, providing necessary information on upcoming events.
- Oversees retail operations at NTDP events.
- Provides on-site assistance with NTDP Regional and Combine stages of the program.

- You will report to work each day you are scheduled on time, presenting yourself in a professional manner though your appearance and interactions with others.

- You will be asked to complete a "final report" about your internship experience to Include:
- What did you learn about USA Lacrosse.
- What did you learn about your field of study and the responsibilities of the department you worked in.
- Explain your roles and responsibilities and talk about any project(s) you did.
- Reflect on skills and work habits you learn that you will take with you as you start your career.
Is This You…
- Current college student working toward a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sport management or similar field of study. Eligibility to earn college credit for internship a plus.
- Ability to dedicate 30-40 hours per week from late May to mid-August 2026. This includes the ability to work onsite at USA Lacrosse’s headquarters office in Sparks, MD.
- Familiarity with lacrosse a plus, with the desire to learn and appreciate the sport so you support up and coming young athletes.
- Previous work experience in some capacity. Volunteer experience for a mission-based organization a plus.
- Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft 365 products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Enthusiastic go-getter with a “roll up your sleeves” and “get it done” attitude.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up/through skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal and written.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must possess a strong “customer first” attitude.
- Ability to exercise the appropriate level of discretion and judgment with the capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information and materials.
- Ability to present a professional persona and presence to build relationships and establish credibility.
- Ability to be flexible with your work schedule, including the ability to work some nights and weekends based on event schedules.
- Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop and fuel the growth of the sport with diversity, inclusion, and equity in mind.

Expected Hours of Work
This position is full-time, working 30 to 40 hours per week during the work week (Monday through Friday) between the hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm with occasional work on nights and/or weekends based on event and business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.
